Today was my last race until Vancouver and it was great! I ran the first leg of the Cowtown Marathon, Ken (team captain) ran the second leg and Emilie (teammate from France) brought us to the finish line. The race started in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth. The scenery was beautiful and the weather held up nicely - although a bit cold and windy.
I felt pretty good during my leg of the race which was 9.8 miles. Of course the enire mileage was uphill. Once I passed off to Ken I kept going another 5 miles to get my 15 miles training in for the weekend. The last 5 miles was not for time so I enjoyed taking pictures of the scenery, other runners and different entertainment taking place on the side. The Star Telegram took my picture and spoke with me for a while as well. Hopefully I will be in the newspaper Sunday morning! Our team finished in 3 hours & 56 minutes...under 4 hours for a full marathon is great. Our other Team In Training relay teams did great as well! What a fun experience. I can't wait until my day to cross the finish line after my full marathon! |
