It has been a while since my last diary entry. Training is still fun although it is definitely getting tougher. My body is starting to feel the effects of long-distance running as my entire lower body hurts. I spent the holidays with a heating pad on my lower back, calves, hamstrings and achilles when I wasn't training; however, I did take a couple of days off to give my body a rest. I am nervous about injury but my chiropractor and massage therapist are doing a great job to make sure I stay in good condition.

I am running my first race this Saturday. It is only a 10K (6.2 miles) but I am looking forward to the competition. It will give me an idea of how well I race.

No pain, no gain!
